Questlove From the Roots wrote that Prince has these fantastic Roller Skates. From what I understand Prince invited him to go to a Valentines day rollerskating party. I read a blog that he wrote, and he described these skates as “clear skates that lit up, and the wheels sent a multicolored spark trail into your path. Here is the link if you would like to read it : The Time I went Roller Skating With Prince. So Questlove’s story was the inspiration for todays Prince!!! Whether this story is true or not…I have no idea! For the record though, I would love to see these skates if they really exist!

Its nearing day 265, I feel that is a pretty big mark to hit in this project. After day 265 there will be only one hundred illustrations to go!!!  This week I started questioning if I have already done certain topics or characters that pop in mind for the day.  I was keeping record in spread sheets for a while, but that level of organization seemed freakishly unnatural to me. So I stop, dropped, and rolled abandoning the spreadsheet in the middle like the true medically diagnosed adhd person that I am.  I have come up with some pretty cool ideas for the project to be audience interactive which I will share soon!

When I first started this project I thought having a cache of Princes would be a good idea. I was thinking if I was having a not so great day, or if I was super busy I would have an illustration tucked away that I could post. That never really happened though. I draw one Prince each day. There has only been a couple of times that I had to draw one ahead, the day I moved, and the two days I spent in the car on a road trip. I think its good that they are drawn every day because it keeps things fresh and current. Also it serves as a diary of sorts for me when the illustrations deal with my life and current news topics. I have been listening to NPR about the comet the last couple of days, I think this news is so interesting.

#Toronto2nite?

Today is day Two Hundred and Twenty Nine in the Prince project.  I feel linked to the Prince fan base online since I have started doing these illustrations. At this point in the project anytime anything Prince related happens… my twitter blows up, friends and family text me, & people share Prince posts on my Facebook page. I heard all about Prince’s interview in Essence Magazine in May, the two new albums being released, Prince on SNL, and even Princes birthday from you all!  Today something new happened!!! I was sitting at work and my phone was pinging away so I looked at my screen…people retweeting my art (and crediting me ding ding ding THANKYOU 🙂 )!!! Usually I just read/hear news about Prince, this time I felt part of the news!!! Apparently there was a rumor today that Prince is playing a secret show in Toronto!!! I still have no idea whether this is merely rumor or not, but I loved being part of the feed! I really feel I have so many fans out there, who just haven’t discovered my art yet. waaah waaah !!! 😦 lol ! I enjoy entertaining people through my art and would love to find my audience! I felt a Toronto Maple leaf would be appropriate for todays posting!!!
