My father always say’s his favorite movie is Forest Gump, so this one is for my Dad! He thinks its hilarious that Forest is responsible for all the historical events in the movie. Great Movie!
I love bees! I don’t know why, I always have. Sometimes I will find one trapped near the screen window, I will convince the bee to crawl on my finger or a piece of paper and set him free out the window. I have never been stung, and I am not afraid! Someday I would like to try my hand at bee keeping. I am pretty sure other people in the building I live in would appreciate me waiting until I have my own house. 🙂 Maybe I could just be like the chick from “Pushing Daisies” she had a crazy set up for her bee’s on the roof of her apartment. That was a good tv show, too bad it was cancelled!
I used to work late nights at a CVS in Aiken, South Carolina. One night I looked up from the register and there was a man just standing waiting to get rung up. He had one singular roll of toilet paper in his hand and his wee wee was just pulled out of his zipper. I just rang him up and ignored him and his man parts. I will always wonder why, did he lose a bet. Maybe he had OCD and giving it the shake just wasn’t going to cut it. Or I was possibly just getting punked…all I know is he didn’t get any reaction out of me at all that night. I guess this is my delayed reaction. This is my nod to that dude…whatever his deal was. 🙂
And now some Wizard of Oz… this blog doesn’t have to make any sense at all…clearly!
Everyone in Kentucky is so excited for the Prince concerts! I heard they started the tour in Louisville because its the drummers hometown. I guess so many people wanted to go to the show they are having four concerts. I went to Louisville in October for a week & a half. Before the trip I wanted to know what Louisville was known for. Apparently every one has a story of someone they know who dated Tom Cruise at some point(Tom Cruise is from Louisville), Slugger bats, Fried Chicken, & Hunter S Thompson. I had to do a Fear and Loathing illustration even though it seems once removed from my original Kentucky concept. I loved Louisville its a very cool city! I hope everyone who gets to see Prince has an awesome time!
Lately I have been getting lots of Prince ideas from coworkers, Thats where Rainbow Brite Prince was conceptualized . Rainbow Brite had to happen! Its not often I can go full on rainbow crazy when I do an illustration !
Here are a few photos from my Louisville trip! The First Photo is from 21-C-Museum-Hotel which I loved visiting, the next photo is a view from Falls of the Ohio State Park, And the Third is from Spinellis pizzeria, awesome pizza by the way! Its not everyday you get to sit in a sick car and shove your face with pizza!
I falling a little behind on my blog…not too terrible though! Today I am posting for days 349 &350 but in actuality I am on day 354! Sometimes I choose not to photograph parts of the Prince illustrations so they look better aesthetically when I post them. When I do this though some of the little fun quirks go missing. These two are good examples!
Here is what I posted on day 349!
This is what you missed (until now)! Hellooooo tighty whities!!!
Here is day 350
& here is what was missing… a booty & some booties!
Seurat’s painting “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte” reminds me of spring…it snowed pretty steady all night, and most of the day today. If someone were spray paint the glass panes of my window white I probably wouldn’t notice. Thats what you see when you look out…just white.
So I wanted to bring some spring into my home !I bought flowers and a plant at Trader Joe’s today! I love that place. The food is so inexpensive, I feel like I’m playing some weird game with myself when I shop there… Lets see how much food I can toss in the cart and try brake over the $100 dollar mark. Today I only hit $70, that place is so damn cheap. My cupboards/freezer are so full! I always feel like I robbed the store. I like to buy pre made frozen food for the freezer for my lazy days?( I know how to cook I swear!) I just throw any old thing in the cart when i’m in that section. I don’t even look half the time. I haven’t found anything gross yet. Thats how I discovered Cowgirl bark its white chocolate with cranberries, pieces of ginger snaps, pretzels, peanuts ,almonds, and I think pieces of rice cake…addictive! I would never in my right mind play this sick game in a another grocery store, because the clerk at the register would have to take items out so I could pay the bill… and then I would have to slink out of there in embarrassment ! lol I don’t have the bank account for that game! Any how here is Todays Prince & The Original Seurat Painting!
Here is my cat Betty, some flowers i bought, and a lovely orchid from Trader Joe’s! (The cat is not from Trader Joe’s)
Prince has had a long week of activities, I thought he could use a Spa day… 🙂
Today is day Two Hundred and Twenty Nine in the Prince project. I feel linked to the Prince fan base online since I have started doing these illustrations. At this point in the project anytime anything Prince related happens… my twitter blows up, friends and family text me, & people share Prince posts on my Facebook page. I heard all about Prince’s interview in Essence Magazine in May, the two new albums being released, Prince on SNL, and even Princes birthday from you all! Today something new happened!!! I was sitting at work and my phone was pinging away so I looked at my screen…people retweeting my art (and crediting me ding ding ding THANKYOU 🙂 )!!! Usually I just read/hear news about Prince, this time I felt part of the news!!! Apparently there was a rumor today that Prince is playing a secret show in Toronto!!! I still have no idea whether this is merely rumor or not, but I loved being part of the feed! I really feel I have so many fans out there, who just haven’t discovered my art yet. waaah waaah !!! 😦 lol ! I enjoy entertaining people through my art and would love to find my audience! I felt a Toronto Maple leaf would be appropriate for todays posting!!!
