Prince is wearing his Poppy pin with pride to celebrate Remembrance Day! I would like to dedicate this post to my Great Grand Father, Treffley Marquis who died at war. I am Thankful for all he did and I am proud to be the great Grand Daughter of such a brave man. I don’t like war or guns, I hope some day we will all live in peace so good men like my Great Grand Father can pass away comfortably in a warm bed. I was also reminded of my grandfathers who served for our country: My Poppy, Charles Fouty served in the Navy in the South Pacific, and Eugine Major.  That is… wait for it… Sargent Major, Major! My Grand Father Eugene survived D – Day in Normandy.  I am thankful for all that my Grand Fathers did for the future we enjoy now.

In Flanders field

by John McCrae

in Flanders fields the poppies blow                                                                                                                                         Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
